Sirakugal Foundation Trust is a community-driven organization committed to preserving indigenous cultural heritage and empowering marginalized communities across Tamil Nadu.
The Indigenous Cultural Revival Project focuses on protecting the rich cultural heritage of marginalized communities, including Narikuravas, Koothadis, tribal populations, and fishing communities. Through structured documentation, capacity building, and community-led cultural enterprise development, the initiative aims to preserve traditional knowledge systems while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Rooted in cultural preservation and social inclusion, the project seeks to transform indigenous knowledge and cultural practices into sustainable creative industries that strengthen cultural identity and support long-term community development.

Mr. V. Jambulingam, a retired ADSP from the village of Kavarapattu in Thanjavur, dedicated his life to public service, discipline, and social upliftment. As a first-generation graduate and passionate sportsman, he strongly believed in empowering underserved communities through opportunity and education.
Inspired by these values, V.J. Balamurugan established Sirakugal Foundation Trust with a vision to preserve indigenous cultural heritage and create sustainable opportunities for marginalized communities across Tamil Nadu.
Today, the foundation works closely with tribal populations, folk performers, fishing communities, and underrepresented groups to protect traditional knowledge systems, strengthen cultural identity, and support long-term community development.
